Tuesday: CIP with Luyi Wednesday: CIP with Luyi & Amanda Thursday: CIP with Luyi & Amanda Friday: CIP with Luyi & Amanda Saturday: CIP with Angie Sunday: CIP with Angie & Amanda Tomorrow (Monday): CIP with whoever. Or watching New Moon :) See first.
Doing the same well-wisher jobs everyday has let me understand human nature better. There are many kinds of people in this world.
1. People who come up to you and tell you they want to write.
This is good. Initiation is good. But I was gonna ask them to write anyway, no need so kan chiong!
2. People who just take the marker in your hand because you held it outwards, and then look at you to see what you want.
I hold out poison you also take?
3. People who ask you lots of unnecessary questions (I.E How they gonna fish the spheres/balloons/balls out from the Marina Bay waters? How many balls are gonna be in the waters? DO YOU GET PAID FOR THIS? Will I see my writing on TV?) and then say OK, I write.
I’m in charge of letting people write on the balls- Idk and Idc about what’s gonna happen on New Year’s Eve okay!
4. People who ask you lots of unnecessary questions (I.E How they gonna fish the spheres/balloons/balls out from the Marina Bay waters? How many balls are gonna be in the waters? DO YOU GET PAID FOR THIS? Will I see my writing on TV?) and then say Nah, not interested in writing.
Zz then don’t waste my energy. Will writing ‘HAPPY NEW YEAR’ kill you? I doubt.
5. People who like to write 10899239847 times.
Actually I don’t mind, I can fill up more balls this way.
6. People who think they can only write once, and hence give the excuse that they have already written somewhere else (if it’s even true).
Where does it state there’s a one-wish-per-person rule?
7. Annoying kids who think the ball is their drawing canvas. Oh please.
Well, it’s not. Especially when most of them suck at drawing. Deformed stick figures. MRT trains that look more like blobs of idkwhatshit. Totahleh irrelevant things.
8. People who brush you away from like, 3 metre distance even though you never even planned on asking them to write.
Don’t act like I’m a salesperson! >_>
9. People who ignore you when they have clearly heard you.
Do try being nicer.
10. People who give excuses such as, “I don’t know what to write.”
I really cannot stand such people. Is your imagination/inspiration/brain/creativity so limited you can’t think of a simple new year wish? :O And then you say you’ll return to write. But you never do. Pfft.
11. People who cannot spell.
I can understand if you do not know how to spell ‘prosperous’. But… ‘Marry Crismast’? :S And it’s srsly lulz when they still look so proud after writing HAHA.
12. People who change the question.
Me: Do you want to write your wishes for the New Year?
Them: Where is the toilet? Where can I find this genre of books? How do I pay my fine?
13. People who, uh, somehow think this activity is Christmas-related, and hence God-related, and hence start babbling on about God.
NO, I’m not religious. And one of the things I hate most in the world is hearing about religions. Tell me I’m not open-minded enough, whatever. I don’t really care. I won’t convert to your religion just because you hand me some A6 paper brochure with an angel’s face on it.
14. Mentally unstable people.
Anyway you may be wondering what kinda thing I’m doing. Basically I inflate giant-sized plastic balloon-like ball-like spheres (that is what they call them), walk around the library with permanent marker in hand and ask people if they’d like to write something. It is for the New Year Countdown Event 2010 at Marina Bay, and 20,000 balloonsspheres filled with the wishes and hopes of Singaporeans will floating on the waters. If you do happen to see any well-wishers in libraries, shopping malls or the Esplanade or wherever (they are easy to point out- oversized white tee, possibly long jeans/pants, and of course, hugging balloonsspheres and markers.), take the marker and write.
Anyway both yesterday and today I met up with Angie before going for CIP. Yesterday did some homework with Yijun and Angie at Parkway, then ate Carl’s Jr for early dinner. Today met up with Angie at Bedok Int for lunch, homework. Then we went for early dinner before CIP with Zhun Yi. He treated us to Macs. :) Thanks so much! … I still have most of my homework unfinished though. Chem essay questions, Bio essay questions, endless Amath online worksheets, Emath radian crap, English worksheets, SS exam paper/worksheet. HEADACHE MUCH!
Can’t wait for Jingmin & the rest to be back from Germany, so I can get my presents (I still hope her plane chair breaks though). Oh, and so I can go shopping @ Vivo with JM! And I wanna go 313@Somerset :( Was supposed to go with bffl but she’s sooo busy so can’t go. People who went there, any reviews? :D
[edit]
OH YA FORGOT SOMETHING I WANTED TO INCLUDE :P
Thanks to LY’s family for treating me to chicken drumsticks and steamboat dinner!! :] So kind. And the butter cookies with chocolate chips, nuts and silver ball decorations 8D Eating ‘em nao! Yumyum. Thank you :D
Lol, I need to find a tutor ASAP or something. Any recommendations?! Went to PP with Jingmin yesterday :D We ate Pepper Lunch at the food court for lunch, then enjoyed this Pokémon performance. Like, clap clap stamp stamp jump jump shake shake! LOOOL, one of the most hilarious sights I’ve seen in my entire life. The characters cannot jump, Pikachu cannot clap! Omgz… the kids loved them though. Whatever. I guess I’d be pretty amazed too if I were like, 6. I saw some qt ankle socks with cartoonified Korean stars on at INQBOX, but they are $5.50/pair and I already have many pairs of socks so :( There’s this new shop at Parkway too, called Stationery Island. Like Tamelia said, my kind of paradise again LOL. They sold like all the kewl stationery, plus some Paris Kids stuff (authentic or not idk but they are damn expensive) and Ddung dolls. I loved the Ddung dolls ever since I saw them at Cineleisure early this year!
After Jingmin left for her piano lesson @ Katong Mall, Mummy came and had her lunch at PP + meet me. Made new specs, they are black and white :P At first wasn’t very sure if I wanted to buy from the new shop, but then we saw Edmund Chen coming to get his specs with his son so I was like, celebrity’s (okay not quite near but still..) recommendation, must be not bad! Will probably only collect after 7 Dec cuz I want the yellow ‘drink me’ water bottle. The orange one this week is HIDEOUS! Shopped at Isetan since they just renovated and there are lots of sales going on. Dropped by B’dazzle and it seems my ear piercings have infection. AGAIN. Sux2bme. The lady cleaned out some pus for me, and told me I must clean everyday with the lotion again. Sigh, so freaking troublesome! Anyway I tried on this dress with ribbons, I liked it and there was a 20% discount (cheapskate yes) SO I bought it. Came in white, grey and black but I already have white and black dresses and no grey ones so I bought the grey. Went back to Stationery Island to buy the Le Petit Prince pen which cost me $7.50 :( :( and this set of v.pretty and vintage rainbow post-its! Whoo, love that shop.
Going to do CIP tomorrow, sigh :( :( Don’t know what they are gonna make us do again. And I saw this really glossy and chio Agnes B wallet online. Non-authentic, but still like $28? :S Heh, need a new wallet.
Oh oh oh, and I saw this too:
Non-authentic mix-style head phones (Please la, the authentic Japanese ones cost like $90!).
Authentic (finally lulz) Cher tote bags. Hope they have stock of the original colour one soon. So getting one with JM! Or I might go for the pink one. :P Or dark beige.
I love my fingernails :) I swear the pink is so much neon-er IRL. Even brighter than your pink highlighter!
Iris is going to eat her fish&chips.
Cally is going to eat too.
Iris loves the Fish&Co printed tissue paper so much she has to pose with it :P
“Try taking a photo of something.” “Okay!” OMGWTFBBQ MY ZHANGDONGLIANG!
Better… Much, much better.
Time to sing. I mean, pose with the microphone.
“Both of us in the photo together leh!” “Okay lor, put cam on top of the TV screen and set auto-timer!” OMG auto-timer too fast FAIL#1.
*snap* “SHIT I thought I set the auto-timer, why it never set, just take?!” FAIL#2
… Finally.
We got the window room. Can see pretty rainbow lights and escalator from inside!
Time to, like, camwhore! :3
Random photos that are… well, random.
Text version (I’m not paragraphing. Don’t kill me.):
Bffl and I mrt’d to City Hall. We wanted to eat at Seoul Garden originally (student price), but because of the public holiday it isn’t available. So we walked to Suntec to eat Fish&Co. Bffl asked me about the Light (reflection/refraction) chapter, and I realized I have forgotten… a lot. After lunch we walked back to Marina Square. Kbox time!! 2-5, but we didn’t have enough time to sing the songs we wanted to sing! Kept having to eject songs :( And the people working there came in to make us leave a few times, but we didn’t care hah. Continued eating the tidbits and drinking our drinks (who asked them to only serve the second drink 10 minutes before we were supposed to leave?!)… while choosing moar songs :D Sang a lot of songs though. I need to practise more Jam Hsiao songs so can sing next time kekeke. Went to Prize Stage after Kbox. I lovelovelove those UFO toy machines to bits!!! Even if I know I won’t win, I just love to try my luck. And the prizes there are super cute and not cheapskate like some other places. Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary toys, Rilakkuma, Gloomy Bear, Domokun. Spent idk how much lol. And then we stayed there (after we went broke) to watch other people play. Entertaining, but v.crowded. Went home after that, because bffl had to go to the airport to fetch her dad.
Today and yesterday were the last two days of the ZeroOne workshop. I should have been bored out. But I’m not. I loved the trainers for their humour, knowledge, helpful input and ever-so-positive comments on everyone’s writing. I loved making new friends- Channey from Bedok Town (who uses Face Shop products too! Nail polish, yum), Yi Min from Nanyang Girls’, Zoey from Yu Hua, Lharva and Limin from Riverside. I enjoyed the air-con in the library. I didn’t mind waking up at 8 everyday and only reaching home at 6. It wasn’t very often (if at all) I’d actually get a chance to sit down in a library with writing friends to write a 1,200 word short story by hand within a time limit.
Thanks to this workshop, I now realize there are more talents in Singapore than I thought. That people in my school really suck at writing, their essays (even those who usually get like 24/30) are like way more than shitty compared to those I read in the workshop. Those people in the workshop (sec ones, sec twos, sec three, ITE students- all there) can write so efficiently, flawlessly… And their imaginations are like, stretching to the horizon. Out of the box? Out of the world! Epic fantasy. Sci-fi. Horror. Historical fiction. Mystery/thriller. Parody. Romance. Srsly they can write all genres! They can write like adults! Not like the people in my school, mainstream fiction? Children’s fiction? And our English teachers encourage us to write those stuff anyway. “Horror, don’t attempt. Anything weird, don’t attempt.” (lulz but it’s better we don’t attempt since most of us will just wreck the story up anyway). (And Jingmin agrees!)
Thank you, Mr. Bhaskar/Ryan the trainers, for letting me be exposed to so much in such a short span of four days, for opening this platform for budding writers in S’pore. I’d love to go back next year- but I don’t think it’s possible since I’ll be in sec four already. But I signed up for the monthly newspaper story column writing job anyway, hope I’ll have time to write (and get paid, yay).
Friday: Did CIP at CLL again, and I borrowed recipe books :9 Met up with JM at Bedok Lib to eat dinner and stuff, bought ingredients from Fairprice. Made cupcakes that night! My very first attempt, DO NOT LAUGH AT THE OUT-OF-SHAPENESS :S I stayed up till midnight+ to make ‘em! Yummy though.
Saturday: Watched 2012 at Cathay with LY, her sis, Lee Ann, her sis, and Lee Ann’s family. The movie was… not super great or anything. Not my genre, I s’pose? But thanks to Lee Ann’s family for treating us to the movie and sushi. Was supposed to meet JM again at night but some things cropped up so I couldn’t go, saaaad.
Sunday: Woke up at 8 to help out as a volunteer at the Asian Children’s Festival. JM and I were in charge of the Kids’ Adventure section. We left early. There was another girl with us, Sophia/Sofia or something. Then we mrt’d to Bedok and cab’d to Tampines SAFRA for this bowling competition. We <3 Ong Cheng Yew. We </3 cocky/Pocky™ guys!We <3<3<3 gutter balls… JM won a prize for getting last position out of about 200+ people, good for her -___- Bus’d to aunt’s house to have dinner, and I tried doing hairstyles :P
Yesterday and today: Woke up at like 8 too on both days for the ZeroOne Workshop at Bukit Merah. Ended up reaching like 25 minutes early with Tamelia both days (she’s crazy). I think it’s pretty good, a rare opportunity to meet people with similar interests! Some of them are really up themselves though. There is a fine line between ‘confidence’ and ‘arrogance’, okay? I guess the writing tips the instructors give are useful, but I can’t help but wanna fall asleep T__T And Tamelia’s not coming tomorrow and Thursday. :( Have to write a short story for the competition tomorrow, not sure what it is about!
Lol I am reeeleeee sleepy right now so don’t shoot me if you can’t understand what I’m writing :(
Yay I’m going out with bffl twice this week. :) :) :)
I know there’s the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air and stuff, but I still love the original one the best (L) It’s the cheapest (though not cheap enough for me to buy), and I love the texture/colour. And the oldskoolness! I want it, I want it, I want it! My old PC is barely surviving. Heck, I have even done up my desktop like Macintosh. No task bar! Translucent object dock! Simple & pretty wallpaper! <3ly Rainlendar skin made by myself! <3ly Twhirl skin customized by yours truly! Somemore all the text is in Courier New, how oldskooly can it get?!
The twelve icons on the left are my shortcuts, the six on the right are my current processes. WLM, conversation, conversation, browser, open folder, Twhirl. I refuse to change to some Mac-imitation Windows theme though, simply because 1) The last time I tried to mess with the themes, my PC practically blew up. 2) I no want no imitation goodz!
Or…
Hah! I was on kittyhell.com.
Lady Gaga. And I think this is the most awesome hairstyle. Ever! I mean, having a Hello Kitty bow on your hair! All au natural, no need buy bow hairband or whatever. So, I went to search for tutorials on YouTube.
I tried it, but it was Epic Phail because I don’t have thick enough hair! Then I tried this:
Much better, but still a mess. Oh well!
Anyway, I wanna go to Kitty Lab at Expo!! Soooo badly… but apparently tickets are too expensive ($38 for weekends, $35 for weekdays) and no photo taking is allowed inside. You have to pay $12 to take a “professional” photo at the gates! If you finish all the games within 35 minutes, you get a special Hello Kitty pin. But that’s retarded, I didn’t spend $35 to spend 35 minutes inside okay! I took part in a contest to win the tickets, but I doubt I’ll win :(

Saleha called me just now and we sang to each other on the phone. Her voice is damn good! JealousmuchxD. I sang two songs and she sang quite a few :P Mr Darius Lim, your loss for not offering voice training!
Basically on a rainy day, I update my lifetime wishlist. I try out hairstyles. I sing. I fold plastic straw stars. I eat fruit.
But oh, look at the sky! It aint raining anymore. :)
See?! Busy woman I am. :D Didn’t buy any new clothes (since mummy says even if I buy clothes I can only wear next year CNY- wtf?), but bought other craptastic goods. No more CCA for a while, gonna cut down on shopping, say hi to CIP hours! Photos, you asked for them D: Reaaally poor quality ‘cuz I have been forgetting to bring ma camera out.
The lights at orchard were so beautiful! The roads were lit with Christmas lights and decorations… Arh. Blink blink. (DON’T SUE ME FOR PLAGIARISM PLEEEESE WITH CHEESE ON TOP) Anyway you can tell how blinkblinky [sic] the photos would be if I had taken them with flash. My phone camera totally doesn’t do Orchard Road justice!
Seeing Orchard Road from somewhere up above the rainbow. Top floor of ION Orchard, in the extra large { prologue } bookstore.
SHO-TEPPAN! D.I.Y Teppanyaki. Aka my dinner.
Nope, never eaten here before. Reminds me of Seoul Garden because of the steamboat-barbeque-like atmosphere, but it’s not buffet and eh, this is cheaper than Seoul Garden!
Bored… we have to queue on a bloody weekday?!
Waiting for food to be served… Dun dun dun. (See the Takashimaya paper bags? :P)
This photo is blurred, not really because of my phone camera. You should have seen the air pollution in front of me! O_O *cough cough* D.I.Y-ing.
+ miso soup, rice! Oh and a salad not pictured above.
*burpz* Okay, don’t need to tell me I still have a bit of rice and soup left. I don’t usually drink miso soup, but this one was extra extra salty and me likies!
What do you see? Pink. But y’know, not really. My cup has green flowers. My keyboard is black (with pink HK stickers but nvm). Oh and I even bought a yellow Sweets Cafe highlighter! Expensive x_X But I needed a bright-coloured highlighter, and it is super chio and tiny! A pack of heart-shaped diecut stickers. I actually stopped buying those Kamio sticker packs for a while, but this one… I couldn’t resist okay! New PLUS WHIPER MR correction tape. Comes with flower and ladybird design one leh! :) Somemore I finally found pink refills. Hooray, don’t need use the plain green one anymore. And this new pink Kestia correction tape I decided to try. Disposable, how eco unfriendly. Tsk, tsk. But sorry, I absolutely cannot resist anything that is pink and has japanese words. See a grey marker in the bottom left corner? Twinklette glitter deco marker. I don’t actually know what it is, but the name + description was encarved so japanesey on the marker in glittery rainbow colours so… I bought it. And an eraser. No more MONO ONE erasers D: This one is translucent and has glitter flakes inside!!
You can barely see the base. It’s a pink 6-pocket folder/holder book. For next year’s use! And two O2 masks - free gifts from Etude House in ION Orchard. Ooh, so gonna try them ;)
OK so the past few days have been really quite happening. Maybe not, but I just had to say that!! *wink wink*
Thursday
Logistics at CLL! Didn’t do much, just paper-related things xD Met this srsly wtf girl. St. Nicholas so what? Just shut the hell up -.- Yeah then LY and I checked out prices of printing/lamination at Bras Basah Complex.
Friday
Choir. Few people turned up because of on-going camps. I love choir practices nowadays, fun! Mr Lim’s TR sessions and stuff :) Then went to do Logistics at the same place again after eating Teppanyaki. Quarreled with some damn unreasonable and uneducated auntie at the food court >:( Shopped at Bugis Street, bought my pink heart shades! Saw some nice clothes and a baaag.
Today
YEAH I WENT TO BUGIS THREE TIMES IN THREE DAYS! With Angie. Cuz she wanted to buy the heart shades too =.= Ate Ajisen ramen, then watched Coraline at ILUMA. I think it came out a long time ago in other countries. I like it!! The storyline and everything -gasp- Took neoprints and tried on some clothes at PMK. I like this dress, gonna buy it next week cuz I’m going back again :P
Me, Kaiqi at choir. My eyes are kinda small cuz I didn’t sleep much the night before =(
Kaiqi! :D
Me.
Angie. (don’t ask me why this photo is so much clearer =.=)
- Red ribbon headband. Cheapest I can find around is $5.90. - Oversized shades. Online, or @ Rubi (but they look too dark =_=) - Checkered pink shorts. Saw at Bedok Interchange, but it was ex and didn’t look nice :( - Ribbon knee-length socks with rhinestones. Can’t believe it is OOS at NEWLOOK. - Sling bag from Fancy Pocket. I’ll get it sooooon. - Big Hello Kitty handbag. $18 from Suntec. - Cher medium-sized bag. Around $35 online? - Pretty dessert-related rings. - Pink leopard-print flip-flops. Rubi!! Forgot how much though. - Plain coloured cardigan.
Ahaha, was so happily inspired by this girl I saw yesterday. Her dress sense = awesome! She doesn’t care what others think, and that is why I admire her :D

I love doing CIP!! Seven hours of repeating the same question to everyone who enters the place, getting rejected/brushed away 75% of the time tactlessly, having people who ask srsly dumb questions, and listening to the excuses/lies the nicer people try to come up with. Well, fun anyway!
One more day of structured lessons, then I promise to make the full use of my holidays instead of staying at home everyday.
CALLY★: An idiosyncratic 15-year-old girl making a prismatic existence on Earth and living her kaleidoscopic life inspired by très très kawaii japanese goodies, sparkly glittery stickers, polychromatic plastic beads, kitschy accessories, purikura, whimsy magic, audrey kitching, happy colours, candy-sprinkley tacky shiny rainbowlicious stuff, crazily tasty words, pretty ribbons, yummy strawberries, tinker bell, gloomy bear, hello kitty, decora fashion, asian pop music, poppity-pop bubble wrap, writing fiction & designing. Dislikes sea creatures, cheese and horror movies. Does not care what you think.
Currently in 3E1 taking Triple Sciences :D Choir is my cca.
